Position Summary

JAAGO Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Skill Development Trainer for the "Shopner Sharothi" project under GESP (Girls Education and Skills Partnership), focused on empowering adolescent girls and young women in Cox's Bazar and Bandarban. This role is essential in delivering targeted training sessions that enhance participants' technical skills and employability.

The Skill Development Trainer will be responsible for developing modules, curriculum and delivering engaging training programs, ensuring they meet the specific needs of participants. This includes creating instructional materials, facilitating hands-on workshops, and evaluating participant progress through assessments and feedback. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in teaching hard skills, excellent communication abilities, and a genuine commitment to fostering the professional growth of young women.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Project Officer to ensure effective program implementation and contribute to a supportive learning environment. This position requires dedication to empowering participants and enhancing their career prospects. We encourage applications from candidates who are citizens of Bangladesh. Job Responsibilities

  • Design and develop training materials, modules, and curriculum.
  • Conduct engaging and interactive training sessions, workshops, seminars, and webinars in different contexts.
  • Assess the soft skill needs of individuals or teams through surveys, interviews, or other assessment tools to tailor training programs according to specific requirements.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and mentoring sessions to individuals to address specific technical and soft skills gaps and help them improve their professional effectiveness.
  • Facilitate group discussions, activities, and exercises to enhance participants' technical & soft skills, foster collaboration, and promote active learning.
  • Provide constructive feedback and evaluations to participants to help them understand their strengths and areas for improvement in soft skill development.
  • Offer ongoing support and guidance to participants after training sessions to reinforce learning, track progress, and ensure the application of newly acquired soft skills in real-world situations.
  • Keep abreast of the latest trends, research, and best practices in training methodologies to enhance training programs and delivery techniques continuously.
  • Collaborate with other trainers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to align skills development initiatives with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, participant progress, and outcomes. Generate reports and analyses to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Seek feedback from participants and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement in training content, delivery methods, and overall effectiveness of soft skill development initiatives.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development activities to enhance personal knowledge and skills in soft skill development, training methodologies, and related areas.

Safeguarding:

  • Uphold and promote the organization's safeguarding policies to ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of all children, young people, and vulnerable adults engaged in our activities.
  • Immediately report any concerns, suspicions, or incidents of safeguarding breaches in line with the organization's reporting procedures.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and conduct that fosters a safe and respectful environment for all beneficiaries, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline.

Experience:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of training experience.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent communication skills in both Bangla and English.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office.
  • Strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding principles, with experience working in environments focused on girls' safety.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with adolescent girls and sports instructors.
  • Proficiency with training tools and technology (e.g., learning management systems, presentation software).
  • Ability to communicate course material in a clear and understanding manner.
  • Ability to teach effectively in different learning environments.
  • Knowledge of interactive training techniques to keep participants engaged.
  • Experience in capacity building, particularly in youth leadership development.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, with a commitment to promoting gender equality and social inclusion.
  • Experience working with diverse groups and understanding various cultural perspectives, adapting training styles to meet the needs of various learners.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
